Company Overview

Plateway has been providing management and civil engineering consultancy to the rail industry since 1997. Serving a client base predominantly located in Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, India and Southern Africa, Plateway has also provided engineering and consultancy services to clients in the USA, Canada and Europe.

One of Plateway’s key philosophies is to provide graduate and undergraduate employment opportunities, with the aim of providing these staff members a solid foundation for their careers with knowledge and principles in railway engineering. In our over 20 years of operation, Plateway has on average employed around two graduates per year. In addition, Plateway employs at least two undergraduates per year through partnership with University of Technology, Sydney by providing six month internship opportunities for both junior and senior students.

Skills & Experience List

Plateway is capable of offering a wide range of skills and experience across various railway management areas including:

  • Railway management in engineering and operating disciplines;
  • Railway operational modelling and software;
  • Railway cost modelling, budgeting, cost estimates and proposal/tender preparation;
  • Contract management, strategy selection, auditing and review of contract performance;
  • Acting as superintendent and client’s representative for contracts;
  • Asset condition assessment, asset renewal and maintenance work program development; and
  • Management system audits and development.

Located in our offices in Sydney and Brisbane, members of the Plateway team have a diverse spread of skills and backgrounds, with degrees in various fields of engineering, applied sciences and business. The team is led by Phillip Imrie.
